Wendell Avenue Bridge Replacement 2020-2022
Beginning in 2020, B&B again was subcontracted to completely rebuild the electrical infrastructure in the bridge across the Chena river at Wendell Avenue in downtown Fairbanks. B&B was responsible for replacing all associated utilities. This involved moving and reconnecting communications lines connected with the bridge, installing light poles, and installing an automatic vehicle identification site on one end of the bridge.
University Avenue Rehabilitation and Widening 2018-Present
Many Fairbanksans will be familiar with the University Avenue Widening project. Beginning in 2018, B&B worked as an electrical subcontractor to rehabilitate and widen large sections of University Avenue. This includes large sections from the Airport Way, Johansen Expressway, and Sandvick intersections with University Avenue. B&B has, and continues to work on replacing streetlights, intersection signals, and utilities associated with the Chena River Bridge such as a weather information station and vehicle identification site on the bridge.
Fairbanks International Airport Runway 2R20L (East Ramp) 2021
This project in the summer of 2021 involved a total reconstruction of the Fairbanks Airport runway 2R20L, also known as the East Ramp. Along with the reconstruction of runway lighting, B&B constructed security upgrades to gates and fencing.
GVEA SJ's 2023-Present
B&B Electric’s Line Crew install, maintain and repair power lines on poles or towers ensuring reliable delivery through tasks like stringing conductors, setting poles and installing transformers. Underground work consists of laying lines below ground which involves trenching and installing conduit to pull high voltage cables though. Much of this work is awarded to B&B Electric through our local utility, Golden Valley Electric.
Parks Highway Milepost 48.8 to 52.3, Big Lake / Wasilla area 2020-2022
B&B was subcontracted to provide electrical services to a project that would ultimately widen the Parks Highway from Pittman Rd to Big Lake Rd near Wasilla from two lanes to four lanes. This included reconstruction of all road lighting and three new intersection signals.
McGrath Airport 2021-2022
B&B Electric completed the necessary work during this two year project to upgrade the runway lighting at this rural airport.
Fairbanks Area Signal Upgrades, Stage 1 2017-2018
B&B Electric was subcontracted to complete this project that involved replacing and upgrading intersection signals throughout the Fairbanks area. This project was the first stage in a multi-stage plan to upgrade intersections throughout the City of Fairbanks.
